Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is your account minimum?
    $100,000
  • Where is my money held?
Pershing, LLC, and Charles Schwab are the asset custodians for Capital Investment Companies. This is where all investments are held. Pershing, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (Symbol: BNY). Pershing is a member of FINRA, SEC, and SIPC. Please visit www.pershing.com/about/pershing-at-a-glance for more information.
  • Does your advisory fee cover the cost of financial planning and other items?
My fees are comprehensive, including financial and goal planning and ongoing advice. If a third-party asset manager or other products such as mutual funds or ETFs are implemented, there are costs associated with these in addition to the advisory fee.
  • What should I expect when creating a financial plan?
A fully comprehensive plan discussing, first and foremost, what current topics are essential to you. My plans are relatively simple and easy to understand. My plans are not 80 to 120 pages, with 6 or 7 modules being covered all at once unless necessary. Instead, I focus on what is important to you (retirement, college savings, second home purchase) and show the likelyhood of you being able to obtain these goals. I can cover this in 20 to 30 pages. I then come back and discuss other topics, such as insurance, that may not be the highest priority when we first engage.
  • Do you build custom investment portfolios for your clients?
